We love finding new, young, local talent around Calgary! We recently met twin sisters Anbareen and Zareen – both students in the Faculty of Art department at the University of Calgary. We asked the girls if they were interested in checking out the Re-Matt facility and photographing our mattresses and raw materials to be recycled. We were elated when they said yes!
The Department of Art is home to those interested in the study and practice of the visual arts. The program emphasizes three areas:
- creative art making
- educational practice and theory
- the study of art in historical and cultural settings
Students participate in group and solo exhibitions of creative work completed while in the program. An emphasis on studio practice is supported by individual relationships with supervisors enhanced by frequent opportunities for individual and group feedback.
Anbareen and Zareen are both specializing in Photography. U of C Photography students receive studio space and full access to the resources of the department including: film based black and while and color equipment, means for transparency masking color separation, inter-negatives, dye transfer printing and gum printing.
The twins spent an afternoon photographing the Re-Matt warehouse and we are proud to show off the final product. We plan on using these gorgeous photos for our website and other marketing materials.
Please contact Ally at Re-Matt if you are looking for talented photographers – these two are extremely professional to work with and are accommodating and creative – we would be more than happy to pass along their information!
Thanks again Anbareen and Zareen – you two killed it!
